Charles V. Loring, MBA, CFRE (Chairman) – holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He is a senior partner of the Fort Lauderdale and Indianapolis based firm of Loring, Sternberg & Associates providing fundraising and governance consulting services to nonprofits. Mr. Loring has a long record of involvement in the non-profit community having served as President of the Santa Barbara Conference & Visitors Bureau, on the Executive Committee of the Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce, president of the University of California Santa Barbara Alumni Association, a Trustee of the UCSB Foundation and President of the Indiana Chapter of the Association of fundraising Professionals. In the LGBT Community he served six years on the national Board of Directors of Lambda Legal and is currently on the Board of Equality Florida.
Coleman Prewitt (Secretary) – holds a JD from the University of Miami School of Law and a BS in Finance from Florida Atlantic University. He worked in the real estate department of a major Florida law firm and now serves as Associate General Counsel for Mergers & Acquisitions for SBA Communications Corporation, a publicly traded communications company. He has served and currently serves on the boards of various community and arts non-profit organizations.
Richard Schwarz (Treasurer) - served his country in the US Army and later graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Mr. Schwarz worked as a Group Operating Manager for a large retail giant and later became a 30 year franchisee of McDonald’s corporation. He is retired and volunteers daily for numerous organizations in Fort Lauderdale in various capacities including financial management.
Darcy Beeman is a Principal with Edward Jones, began her career as a financial advisor for them in 2000, opening a branch office and building a successful business in Fort Lauderdale. Since 2008, she serves as a regional leader for an area in Southeast Florida where she supports and guides over 60 financial advisors. Before joining Edward Jones, Ms Beeman worked for Hormel Foods for 10 years in sales and management, including serving as manager of international management for Mexico and Central America.
Mark Budwig - a graduate of the University of California San Diego, he is the owner and president of S.Mark Graphics, an agency designing marketing materials for a wide range of businesses for over 25 years. Mr. Budwig serves as President of the Board of Directors of Riverwalk Trust and Broward House and has chaired Oakland Park Main Street and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. A graduate of Leadership Fort Lauderdale Class 11 he serves on the boards of the Tower Club, Smart Growth Partnership, Regent Bank as well as the Centennial Marketing Coalition for the City of Fort Lauderdale.
Philip Dearborn - a Vietnam Veteran who served as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army, Mr. Dearborn holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Harvard University and worked in lower to mid level management at Time, Inc. before embarking on a 12 year career as an Independent Producer of Theatre and Films. Later, Mr. Dearborn founded a company that developed fund raising programs for non-profit organizations following which he designed and led Adventure Travel Tours. He is also a proud father of two daughters and four grandchildren.
Ellen Krider - is currently the Vice President and Financial Advisor with RBC Wealth Management. A graduate of Broward College, Ellen received her certification in Financial Planning at the Nova Southeastern School of Business and Entrepreneurship in 1999 and has been in the financial services industry for over 25 years specializing on the unique needs of the LGBT community. A proud supporter of numerous LGBT non-profit organizations.
Kent McIntyre - is a Texan by birth and a Floridian by choice. After entrepreneurial successes in Austin and New Orleans including design work, space planning and real estate investing, he moved to Fort Lauderdale to be with his life partner and began a successful career in real estate. He represents Keller Williams Realty Professionals, is on the board of the Broward Master Brokers Forum and is an active participant and contributor to many LGBT organizations. He also has the good fortune to be the father of 3 sons and 2 grandchildren.
Mona Pittenger - earned a BBA in Finance from the University of Oklahoma and later founded a company that acted as a prime contractor for the Department of Housing and Urban Development managing and marketing foreclosures exclusively in 5 states. Ms Pittenger co-founded the Tulsa Girls Art School in 2007, an organization which provides art instruction and entrepreneurial skills to under privileged girls living in the inner city. An active philanthropist, she formed a public foundation in 2004 at the Tulsa Community Foundation and has served on many non-profit boards including Lambda Legal in varying capacities.
Lillian Roberts - a native Floridian, is CEO of TKO Distributors, a wholesale print manufacturer, and has been serving in this capacity for the past 18 years. Her business was recognized as an Inc. 5000 company for growth in 2006. Currently, Ms. Roberts is a board member of the South Florida chapter of the global Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO) and is also attending a three year Entrepreneurial Master’s program at MIT. She is an active supporter to several non-profit organizations in the tri-county area.
Lee H. Rubin has been at the forefront of the National LGBT rights movement for more than two decades. He is a former co-chair of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Board of Directors and currently serves as Development Committee Co-Chair for the Pride Center of South Florida. Lee previously served on the National Board of Governors of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). Lee is also an avid social media devotee with more than 1,500 friends on Facebook, 2,000+ connections on Linked-In, and a Klout score of 62. He recently relocated to South Florida from Washington, DC with his longtime partner, Jim Walker, a member of the board of directors of The Pride Center of South Florida.
Jeff Shover - is a graduate from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and an MBA in Finance and Economics from Barry University. Mr Shover is currently Senior Vice President with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor & Wealth Advisor designation. He has been involved in numerous community organizations in Broward and Palm Beach Counties and supports local and national LGBT organizations.
Jim Stepp - received a BA (University of Oklahoma) and an MBA (Rutgers University) and served as an officer in the US Navy. A partner of a national accounting and auditing firm, Mr Stepp served in various professional committees and authored two books on technical accounting issues. He was also on the board of the New York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project.
B. Rodney White - is a native of North Carolina and most recently from Atlanta, Georgia and has been active in the LGBT movement for the past 20 years. He is Executive Vice President and co-owner of Making Projects Works, Inc., a project management consulting firm and has networked the access and opportunity afforded through both business and personal relationships to support many local LGBT organizations. A current resident of Hollywood, Florida, Mr. White serves as a member of Equality Florida’s Board of Directors, GLAAD’s National Leadership Council, GLAAD’s South Florida Leadership Council an is an active fundraiser for Lambda Legal and HRC.
George Zuber - graduated from the State University of New York and earned a Masters in Accounting from New York University. Mr. Zuber has over thirty years of professional experience as a CPA and recently retired as a partner in the New York Office of Deloitte where he provided audit services to many valued clients and recently specialized in forensic investigations and dispute services. He also served on the Deloite Touche Tomatsu Global Executive Committee as the firms specialist in arbitrations and as the Diversity & Inclusion Partner. He has served on the Board of Directors of Lambda Legal for six years and a trustee of the Actors Fund since 2006.
